Graduate students compete in Three Minute Thesis on March 19 and 20
The graduate student research process at any university can be isolating at times. Often students work within a very small research group or among colleagues with a similar knowledge base. But on Tuesday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 20, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology will put the spotlight on graduate student research as candidates for master’s degrees and PhDs publicly share their discoveries during the annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition.
3MT® is a university-wide competition for graduate students to summarize the key points of their research and its potential impacts to a general audience—in just 180 seconds. Join the audience and watch our graduate students race the clock to win the top prize of $1,000 and their ticket to the provincial competition at McMaster University.
All audience members who attend the finals will have the opportunity to cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award. All university students in attendance will also be entered in a draw for a $100 gift card.
- University 3MT® Heats: Tuesday, March 19 (see schedule on )
- University 3MT® Finals: Wednesday, March 20 at 2:30 p.m.
All 3MT® events will take place in the Business and Information Technology Building, Mezzanine (second floor).
