Indigenous Education and Cultural Services hosting Visiting Elder through October 9
Indigenous Education and Cultural Services (IECS) will continue the very popular by moving to an online format this year, creating a different experience and providing the opportunity for both synchronous visits and asynchronous, pre-recorded content.
During the week of Monday, October 5 to Friday, October 9, the program welcomes Elder Dorothy Taylor, an Anishinaabe Elder, who sits on the Indigenous Education Advisory Circle at the university. She is known for her work and traditional teachings about the sacredness of water. She was born and raised in Oshawa and is a member of the Curve Lake First Nation.
If you wish to book the Elder for a visit with your class or for a one-on-one session, please submit a request. Visits are scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis. IECS will do its best to accommodate all requests, but bookings are not guaranteed.
