Student Awards and Financial Aid office services for students
The holidays can be very stressful for some students. In addition to academic or mental health concerns, some may also be experiencing difficulty in affording tuition, books or have food insecurity.
The Student Awards and Financial Aid (SAFA) office would like to remind students that we are here to support them and offer the following services:
- One-on-one budget counselling.
- OSAP application reviews for possible appeals to obtain additional funding.
- Bursary and award assessing/nominating.
- Emergency assistance for students with temporary food insecurities.
We typically recommend students contact connect@ontariotechu.ca or call 905.721.3190 to book an appointment with a Financial Aid Officer (FAO). However, we recognize there are times where you may be meeting with a student who requires immediate or emergency assistance. In those cases, please reach out to our office so we can find the best way to give support, in consultation with the on-duty FAO.
We have a FAO available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you have any questions, please contact the SAFA office.
