Â鶹´«Ã½ and PSAC ratify five-year collective agreement for Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants and Exam Invigilators

Â鶹´«Ã½ University is pleased to announce the ratification of a five-year collective agreement with Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants and Exam Invigilators represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). This renewal agreement is a significant outcome for our university community and a reflection of the student-first approach demonstrated by both bargaining teams throughout negotiations.

The new collective agreement provides fair and reasonable financial commitments and responds appropriately to the changing post-secondary landscape in Ontario. This agreement fully resolves the impact of Bill 124 and creates new opportunities for Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants to secure additional appointments during their program of study.

Over the past 18 months, the university has reached long-term renewal agreements with three of its bargaining units, including Sessional Lecturers represented by PSAC (five-year deal ratified in July 2023) and administrative staff represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (four-year deal ratified in May 2024).

The university would like to acknowledge the considerable effort and collaboration of both bargaining teams during these intensive negotiations.
