Upcoming transition of ontariotechu.ca email to a cloud-based solution
In late February 2025, the university’s Information Technology (IT) Services team will transition all faculty and staff Outlook (@ontariotechu.ca) email accounts from physical on-campus servers to a cloud-based solution. This carefully considered shift will enhance the university's digital infrastructure, ensuring it remains secure, reliable, and able to accommodate the university’s growth. This transition follows a thorough conducted by the Office of the University Secretary and General Counsel.
IT Services’ goal is to make this move as seamless as possible and to ensure the university community remains informed and supported throughout this process. IT Services will be available to assist faculty and staff with post-migration issues. In January, IT Services will release more information on steps employees can take to prepare for the migration.
