Students in class Utilize your 3-year Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma to transfer into the 2nd year of our Manufacturing Engineering degree program.

General information

The Manufacturing Engineering Pathway program provides graduates with a three-year Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma - Advanced from Durham College an opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Manufacturing Engineering at Â鶹´«Ã½ in three years. Eligible graduate students from the Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma - Advanced at Durham College will be granted transfer credits upon acceptance into the Bridge program.

Developed in consultation with industry, our Manufacturing Engineering curriculum provides a solid grounding in the fundamentals of mathematics, computing, and science, with significant content in engineering sciences and design. The only accredited program of its kind in Canada, this unique program emphasizes the design, development, planning, improvement and application of advanced manufacturing processes.

You’ll learn about advances in materials and composites, robotics, automation and intelligent controls while considering the integration between tools, processes and equipment with cutting-edge manufacturing facilities and systems.

Engineering and Management

There is a need for engineers with management skills. Complement the technical studies of your engineering program with business and management courses by adding a year to your degree in order to pursue the Bachelor of Engineering and Management (Honours) program.

A multi-year support program to help female engineering students explore opportunities and careers, gain experience in the workforce, make a successful transition to a career in engineering and find lifelong success in a professional engineering career.

Direct-entry co-op program

This program has a direct-entry co-op option that you can apply for directly on your Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC) application.

Our co-op positions are full-time, paid employment opportunities providing students with a steady income stream throughout their studies.

An Ontario college advanced diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology - Advanced* with a minimum mid-70s average. 

*Only graduates from Durham College will be considered for admission.

Note: Admission is competitive. The specific average or standing required for admission varies from year to year. Students are selected by taking into consideration a wide range of criteria including school marks, distribution of subjects taken and performance in subjects relevant to the academic program. Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Preference will be given to applicants with the best qualifications.

Once you have completed the bridge courses with a minimum C grade in each course, you will proceed into the four-year Manufacturing Engineering program. In recognition of your diploma, you will receive 13 courses towards your 40-course Manufacturing Engineering degree.
